There are lots of great public health resources available. The list below is not a 100% comprehensive list as new sites are constantly being created. • ​National Institutes of Health. Has lots of sub sites (but not easy way back to the parent site) like ​Diabetes and Kidney.
• ​National Cancer Institute (NIH sub site). seer.cancer.gov - look at intro page and how they do data discovery.
• ​health.gov, ​Tips for site development.
• ​HealthData.gov.
• ​Healthy Communities Institute (health indicator system - commercial product).
• ​America's Health Rankings. Custom reports and much more.
• ​Health Indicators Warehouse. On June 30, 2016, the Health Indicators Warehouse and its API will no longer be updated. This site remain available in its current state until April 15, 2017.
• ​County Health Rankings.org (has side by side map comparisons).
• ​SHADAC.org - The intro page - very clear and quick/easy to understand what you can do. What do you think about their approach e.g. how it's organized and how they navigate etc.? They use one of the script packages we investigated with the charts/maps displaying quickly etc. Paul said: Positives: Engaging. Draws in user. I got a map or graph really quickly. Features - Edit the chart. Get image. Get data. Change the indicator. Bar graph presents U.S. bar in different color from state bars. Negatives:I got lost quickly. Drew me in so well… Sometimes asked to select methods of navigation I didn’t understand (rate versus characteristics)

• ​Health Grove. Interesting site that can link to that can provide a nice overview on health topics.
• ​Kaiser State Health Facts.
• ​Canada Census. Clean modern stats site.
• ​Childrens Hospital of Philidelphia Maria likes the clean look of the expandable/collapsible menu on this page. The "Conditions We Treat" section with the "View all conditions+" thing at the bottom is nice. I especially like the ​fade in the last visible row since it helps the user to notice that there's more to the list.
• ​OECD. Interesting stats site that launches right into it.
• ​WHO SIS - Stats.
• ​Wikipedia Indicator Example. Has small graphic that when clicked expands, related indicators, etc.
