#356 closed Issue (Fixed)

Kendo chart sorting issue

Description

This is related to Ticket #340 but slightly different.

In this case, I have data by year and insurance status. In 1990-1996, the insurance value was "unknown" for all records. In 1997-2014, there are 3 possible values for insurance.

The table comes out fine. The graph does not. (see attached) It starts at 1997 because that's where the Medicaid and Not Medicaid data start, but Unknown starts at 1990 and, I guess, because it's not the 1st value, its "extra years" get tagged onto the right end of the graph.

It's a Kendo issue. Out of our control. The first category value graphed is the category value that has a full complement of series values.

We can check for Kendo updates...

Kendo sorts categories based on valid values for the first series. This is likely the same issue that has already been documented. Kendo has released a new version. Maybe they have found a better way to handle this. Not sure which ticket it was documented in.

Paul suggested trying the "display missing data values" xml element in her query.
