Description

Need a map config for High-Low-Same map. The HLS map value (eg, 1,2,3 for HLS) need be calculated from confidence intervals and primary measure count, rate, or percentage etc. This is different from all other maps which directly map the data result value of primary measures such as count, rate, and percentage etc. The map grouping type for HLS should be able to map independent values such as 1,2,3(HLS) but not only grouping ranges.

For the HLS values, we can calculate them and make it a data column in the data output. The map config just needs to grab the hls values instead of rate, percentage etc. and map them with correct grouping type.

Query map

comment:2 Changed 3 years ago by Tong Zheng

I have explored the possibility to show HLS map by manipulating data output table. I think it's good enough for the need but the map labels need more descriptive. The data can return text values but the map wouldn't pick them up. Here are what I have so far:

See attached HLS_DataTable.PNG, the HLS column would be there without interfering with other queries on the same query builder page. The HLS column shows if category displayed by GeoProxy?.

See attached HLS_Map.PNG, the map uses 3 groups categories to show HLS map (values 1,2,3). The problem is the labeling. The yellow highlighted values 1,2,3 wouldn't make sense to users. I like to have 1- Higher than State, 2- Same as State, and 3- Lower than State. Any ideas how to handle the labels?
