#265 closed Issue (Fixed)

2nd dimension value selection for maps

Reported by: Lois Haggard Owned by: Testing
Priority: *High Milestone: 2.3 - Testing
Component: View-App Version: 2.3
Severity: Major Effort Keywords:

If the first dimension is a Geo dimension and there is a 2nd dimension (as with our survey queries), IBIS-view maps the totals on the 1st dimension. Same issue with pie chart.

This is similar to ticket #250, when there is a 3rd dimension on the survey query, ibisph-view has to flatten out the chart somehow.

Garth and I talked on 8/16. ibisph-view will map/graph the first non-total dimension value. So for instance, for surveys, ibisph-view will map the survey #1 dimension value (e.g., smokers versus non-smokers, if the #1 dimension value is "smoker" that is the value that will be mapped by default.

Garth will also see how much effort it will take to allow the user to modify which second dimension value should be used in the map/chart. If it's not too much, we'll do it.

Not doing UI for now nor IPs as all IP views with geo's are single dims only.

Lois tested. This is working for the maps. Can't test ticket #250, yet (3rd dimension survey query graphs).
