25In order to provide a consistent grouping and ranking standard, the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) prepared a
26<a href="https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/dvs/im9_2002.pdf.pdf">List of 124 Selected Causes of Fetal Death</a>.  Forty-five causes on that list were
27designated as eligible to be ranked as leading causes of fetal death.  For more information about the NCHS rankings see
